Response to Article

The issue regarding Malian women bleaching their skin is ridiculous. However, I don't believe that it's the women's fault. Perhaps if their society was less race oriented them maybe people would accept and embrace who they are. The women are causing their skin to become pallid and it's causing them to become something that they aren't. The women that are currently treating their skin this way seem mesmeric and are just doing this to feel accepted and like they belong. Doctors should try to educate the people of that area and be more salubrious. Instead of embellishing these women with things to improve themselves, they should be working harder to embellish them with self confidence and acceptance. I thought it was bad when people decided that being more salacious would benefit their social life but now it's gone as far as bleaching your skin. What has the world come to? If the world was more jovial then maybe people all around the world wouldn't strive so hard to be perfect. Maybe this is the only alternative for those who aren't born with a good sense of dowry. Their government needs to do a better job of filling their people with more ebullient attitudes then maybe then people will see the light.

Socrates Cafe Reflection

Today's discussion on the aspect of Socrates' and Plato's multiple phylosophies on life and the four cardinal virtues was very hectic. It caused me and I'm sure many others a lot of stress because people, including myself, often repeated themselves and said stuff just to get credit for aying things. I though that all along it was impossible to pin point the specific meaning of the virtues but people kept trying to. Who knows, maybe I'm just being ignorant

Beauty and Perfection

Beauty in Youth.

To me youth is unheard and doesn't always have a voice. Children especially in the United States grow up having to agree with there parents and are already become biast and judgemental at verious young ages. The world's youth in general are beautiful in the sense that they are constantly growing and learning about what the world has to offer.

Perfection.

In my opinion, it's become more and more rare as the world progresses to find perfection in any area. It just seems that everything in the world has some inperfection and always needs some type of improving. Most commonly, people have the most improving to do and all it takes is a little influence to change a person. Well at least that's what I think.

Beauty

To me, this photo of a water village/resort in Fiji shows beauty at its best. This setting is beautiful because its natural and untouched by man. Other than the village portion of it, it is completely nature built. The water is blue but in such a way that it is clear because of how clean it is. The water is so clean that you can always see the bottom of the ocean floor for a perfect view of the white sand. All of this plus the crisp, fresh, and nonpolluted air makes a beautiful place to be.

In my opinion, this picture shows a different type of beauty. This picture is beautiful because it's my dream getaway. My favorite thing to do is skate and this is the ideal place to do it. Most places are anti skateboarding zones but that's what makes this place so pleasing and in my eyes, beautiful. This is my heaven on earth.
